1. Black History Month

This is an essential time of the year to celebrate the achievements and contributions of African Americans to the United States and worldwide. Let us take this time to honor African-Americans' legacy and their impact on our society. Let us also use this month to reflect on the struggles African Americans have faced and continue to face, and to think of ways we can help to make a difference in the lives of our African American brothers and sisters.

2. Pay a Compliment Day, February 6

a variety of compliments in heart notes

Pay a compliment day is rooted in a heartwarming experience on a bus ride home in 1995 when the founder, Koopersmith witnessed kindness from the driver to another passenger. In return for the kindness, before getting off the bus, she gave her warmest compliment to the driver. The experience inspired her to create a day that will leave a lasting impact on anyone. Today, a simple “Your routines are inspiring to me,” will make your co-worker’s day. Don’t forget to compliment too because you are awesome just the way you are!

3. Super Bowl Sunday, February 11

Although it is considered an unofficial holiday in the US, millions of Americans gather every winter to watch the National Football League championship game or NFL. It also happens every Sunday which is the perfect time for people to spend time with friends or family. Are you planning a Super Bowl party? Pair the entertainment with glasses of bubble tea drinks with your favorite munchies!

4. Galentine’s Day, February 13

If you’re ever wondering where Galentine’s Day came from, well, the term was introduced to the world by the popular television series, Parks and Recreation. Leslie Knope declares February 13th as the day when platonic love is to be celebrated, usually among women and we’re here for it! If you’re not into celebrating Valentine’s Day because at some point it seems a little bit cringy to you, then this day is quite the day you’d want to celebrate. Set a date night with the gal group in a Furoshiki Bag-making party that’s more fun than usual.

Anyone and everyone can be showered with love and gifts on this day. Valentine’s Day isn’t only about romantic couples but your family, friends, and even your favorite people at work. It’s an enjoyable time to elaborate on interactions and engagements that’s why a huge percentage of workplaces have also started celebrating at their stations with a more fun approach as teams gather to get involved in various team-building activities like learning the art and embracing sustainability and zero-waste practice of Furoshiki Gift Wrapping– a more ecological way of wrapping gifts using fabric for your special someone. As a corporate event planner, Kits by Food Craft curates team-bonding events that are interactive and unique with DIY kits for adults included. Corporate peeps can go for a seamless virtual or in-person setup depending on their company nature!

Some of us swoon over when Valentine’s Day comes, but some of us aren’t head over heels about it. Of course, not everyone has someone to romantically celebrate with. That’s why Single Awareness Day exists to remind us that it’s okay to be alone and that there is so much more to see and feel in this world apart from being with someone—being independent, having the liberty to do anything, free from drama, and being away from financial expenses. Find and do something that is fulfilling like discovering a new hobby of arts and crafts or light cooking skills with DIY kits.

8. Random Acts of Kindness Day, February 17

For the world and most people of today, kindness seems to be a subject that has slowly become scarce. Even on a personal level, you would have the thought that everything and everyone just finds a reason to be rude. “Where did kindness even go?” So on this day, let’s find time to practice what should be significant in everyday life. Kindness comes in many forms like a random initiative or a single compliment to a workmate. You can do these simple things in celebration of this day:

  1. Give compliments to make someone’s day

  2. Surprise someone with a gift

  3. Make donations to charity

9. National Leadership Day, February 20

On every 20th of February, a lot of organizations in the USA commemorate National Leadership Day. Groups usually host team building activities such as Henna and Culture events that encourage leadership as everyone has potential for the role and inclusivity. Leaders should not only lead and command the pack but also inspire and motivate a team to become leaders as well. And be the best version of themselves in an environment where everyone is honed to take risks, values loyalty, and honesty.

10. National Margarita Day, February 22

Triple sec, Tequila, and Lime Juice– the holy trinity of everyone’s toast of Margarita! Although it was first created in Mexico in the 1930s, this popular drink is the official party drink wherever in the world. And nope, happy hour doesn’t happen after 6. Lucky for you, happy hour is every hour with our Hawaiian-themed or Spiced Cocktails and Mocktails experience. It’s your ideal event that lets you and your peers forget about the emails you left unread. You don’t even have to worry about anything with a DIY kit for adults that includes premium liquor, spirit, and every ingredient you need to create such a divine concoction!

Are you a chili head? This is your day! Pay homage to the dish that puts your toughness to the test but warms you with its taste. Chilis may be deemed simple but it is a crowning glory to families, cultures, and heritages. Did you know? Chili is considered Texas’ national dish too! As a small business, a percentage of our multicultural team consists of Hispanic descent. In addition, we just ultimately love chili. Thus, we offer the Hot Sauce Making virtual experience to our guests who like to take the heat. If you’re a team that wants the kick in its team-building events, this one is a top recommendation!

12. National Letter to An Elder Day, February 26

National Letter to an Elder Day was started by Love for Our Elders to combat the sadness that our elderly communities experience. In a similar initiative, Heart of Dinner has also established a cause to aid the Asian elderly community in New York City. Volunteers help out to pack lunch essentials with handwritten notes. In support of such an initiative, our team has partnered with the latter organization to help teams write heartwarming Suminagashi notes for the Asian elderly community, especially when cruelty and violence are far from over. Just recently, a violent attack happened again in a supposed festive celebration for the Lunar New Year 2024 that turned into a nightmare for the neighborhood in Los Angeles where most Asian Americans reside.
